Autumn Mushroom Hunt Weekend September 30th/October 01st 2022
This year heralds our 21st Mushroom Hunt in Longueville House and is reserved for weekend resident guests of Longueville House.
Enjoy two wonderfully relaxing nights away in the warm and calm surroundings of Longueville House. A welcoming cup of tea and home bakes awaits you in our Drawing Room each afternoon from 3pm so worth arriving early for! Later take a garden stroll within the 400 acre estate in particular the orchards where our wonderfull artisan beverage products, single orchard products come from. Staying indoors, read a book by a crackling log fire, or enjoy a leisurely soak in the bath before dinner.
Each evening your private Chef/ Patron William O'Callaghan will cook up a storm, a delicious 4 course set dinner menu. If you like, come down a little earlier for a drink and and meet up while he debriefs on the evening's menu. Please arrive on time as dinner is served promptly at 7.30pm, all guests dine at the same time. Dress Code is smart casual or as glam as you wish!
Each morning enjoy a delicious, country house breakfast served from 8.30am to 10.30am.

The Hunt
With the guidance of experienced mycologists, mushroom experts,you will search for a range of mushroom varieties growing here on the Estate. Hopefully, you will pick up some helpful tips on fungi while enjoying the wonderful outdoors and grounds that surround Longueville.
You'll need your boots and wellies for hiking around the property. Wise to bring waterproof hats, over coats, even a pair of sunglasses may be useful. You will need a straw or woven baskets, a small knife too will be helpful. The mushroom foray takes place on Saturday and starts at 11am where group meet the experts for a brief orientation. Break into small groups and explore the grounds and mushroom sites within Longueville. Later return to the Courtyard where mushrooms are displayed, dissected, and discussed. A light picnic lunch washed down with Longueville House cider is provided to all. A fun activity and ideal for beginners!
